A Commitment to Revitalize Hunting and Fishing in Tennessee

Nov 13, 2024

For several years, the Federation’s Hunting and Fishing Academy has connected Tennesseans of all ages and lifestyles to the outdoors. Thousands of participants, from youth to adults, have benefited from the expertise of the Academy’s staff and volunteers.

Between July 2023 to June 2024, more than 7,400 Tennesseans participated in the Academy’s diverse offerings, including virtual classes, in-person workshops, and hands-on youth events.

Hunters and anglers play a key role in conserving our natural resources. However, as their numbers decline, both this tradition and its positive impact on conservation are at risk.

The Academy’s goal is to recruit, reactivate, and retain hunters and anglers in Tennessee, ensuring the tradition continues. It provides tailored experiences designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed for success.

The Academy offers instruction through various formats. Youth events bring families outdoors for engaging and educational experiences in hunting and fishing. Adult workshops follow a structured curriculum to teach essential skills in an easy-to-comprehend way. Virtual classes provide broad knowledge to a wide audience with no cost or travel barriers.

No matter the format, Hunting and Fishing Academy participants enjoy learning from seasoned hunters, anglers, and conservationists as they gain the skills and confidence needed for the outdoors.
