We now accept crypto donations!
Conservation x Crypto: Tennessee Wildlife Federation, one of the largest and oldest nonprofits dedicated to conserving the state’s wildlife and natural resources, is now accepting cryptocurrency, commonly referred to as “crypto,” donations.

Partnership with Crypto for Charity

Cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin, is gaining popularity including for philanthropic efforts. Tennessee Wildlife Federation recently partnered with the technology provider, Crypto for Charity, to enable crypto donations. This platform allows donors to make gifts of crypto that are converted to US dollars. Like other donations, donating cryptocurrency can provide tax benefits.

“While we are one of the oldest conservation nonprofits, Tennessee Wildlife Federation is a forward-looking organization and we want to help make giving as easy and convenient as possible. Whether it’s a mailed check, appreciated stock, or now cryptocurrency, we stand ready to help our friends and supporters engage our mission through their impactful philanthropy. These funds allow us to conserve Tennessee’s wildlife, water, and wild places.”

Kendall McCarter, Chief Development Officer of Tennessee Wildlife Federation

Crypto is digital currency. Transactions are recorded on a blockchain—a digital ledger. Blockchains are maintained by a network of computers. Proponents of cryptocurrency applaud blockchains and their decentralized nature. The availability of cryptocurrency is based on software code, rather than beholden to banks or middlemen to process transactions.
