The Bass Pro Shops store in Kodak, TN, recently presented Tennessee Wildlife Federation with a check for $6,211 from the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund. The Outdoor Fund is a way for customers to give back to local conservation efforts by rounding up to the nearest dollar when checking out at Bass Pro Shops. It is an incredible community effort to support conservation, and is amazing to see what a few cents rounded up can add up to.

Each Bass Pro Shops store chooses an organization to donate their portion of the Outdoor Fund, and the Kodak store generously chose Tennessee Wildlife Federation for their most recent donation. With this donation, Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund has joined the Federation’s Corporate Council, a group of businesses championing Tennessee’s great outdoors through Tennessee Wildlife Federation.

“I am proud that the Bass Pro I shop at was excited to support the mission of Tennessee Wildlife Federation,” said Bruce Fox, chairman of the Federation’s Board of Directors. “I have always enjoyed shopping at the Kodak store. Huge thanks to Chris Vaden, general manager of Bass Pro Shops in Kodak, for his commitment to conservation and willingness to give back to our organization.”

The Kodak store is also excited about the Federation’s stewardship work, and helped us acquire a Tracker Off Road Side-by-Side UTV to advance that work. Our Habitat Conservation team will use this tool in the field to improve assessment and management abilities on projects across the state.

“We are very excited to partner with one of the leading outdoor retailers in the nation,” said Rebeca Bell, director of development, Tennessee Wildlife Federation. “Our goal is always to improve and expand the work we do for the wildlife, waters, and wild places of Tennessee. Partnerships like this are essential to making that possible.”

This donation marks another step in the Federation’s partnership with Bass Pro Shops in Tennessee. Through a collaboration with country music star Chris Janson, Bass Pro Shops produces a limited edition hat supporting three conservation organizations in Tennessee—including the Federation’s Hunters for the Hungry program. A portion of the sales from every hat is donated to Hunters for the Hungry, which provides venison protein to hunger relief organizations in Tennessee. Hats can be purchased online or at any Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s store in Tennessee.
