On June 14, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA). More than 1,400 animal and plant species in Tennessee are at risk of becoming threatened or endangered. The Federation is excited that RAWA has passed in the House, a crucial step in providing the resources needed to support these species before they land on the endangered species list.
We thank the Tennessee Representatives who voted “yes” on the bill: Reps. Cooper and Cohen.
RAWA is an innovative, proactive solution that will provide dedicated, recurring funding to each state to protect and preserve species of greatest conservation need–without adding a new tax. Conserving these species in Tennessee is beneficial to the wildlife itself and to the people of Tennessee.
