Fight Hunger. Donate Deer.
Hunters for the Hungry
For more than 25 years, Tennessee Wildlife Federation’s Hunters for the Hungry program has provided fresh, lean meat to the neediest of Tennessee’s families. Working with certified wild game processors and hunger relief organizations, Tennessee’s hunting community is able to give back to citizens in need while helping to manage the state’s deer herd.

25+ Years and 9 Million+ Served
Since 1998, Hunters for the Hungry has provided more than 9.9 million servings of venison to Tennesseans in need.
Here’s How It Works
Step 01
Tennessee hunters donate harvested venison to any of our 60+ participating certified wild game processors.
Step 02
Tennessee Wildlife Federation covers the cost of processing with the help of generous donations and processor discounts.
Step 03
Venison is distributed to local food banks, soup kitchens, and shelters to feed hungry families across Tennessee.
All venison harvested in the CWD Management Zone or a high risk area is tested for CWD. Only venison with a negative CWD test is delivered to local hunger relief agencies. Those seeking venison must go through a local food bank, soup kitchen, or shelter to receive donated venison.
Find a Processor
Hunters for the Hungry boasts more than 60 participating processors throughout the state of Tennessee. Hunters may donate their entire deer or only a portion of their harvest (if not in the CWD Management Zone).
To donate your harvest to Hunters for the Hungry, drop off your deer at one of our statewide processors. Enter your ZIP code in the map or search by region in the list below to find a processor near you.
We recommend calling in advance to confirm hours and availability.
East Tennessee Hurricane Relief
Several participating processors in Middle Tennessee are partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank to send donated venison directly to hurricane relief efforts in East Tennessee. When you donate deer to these processors from October 14-27 and December 1-14, you can request that all or part of the donated deer be sent to East Tennessee communities recovering from Hurricane Helene.
We recommend calling in advance to confirm hours and availability.
