Former TWRA Director Ed Carter Shares his Views About the Federation’s Work

Ed Carter retired in May 2020 from his position as executive director of Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). Throughout his career, Carter was a positive force in managing and conserving Tennessee’s fish, wildlife, and public use of natural resources.

In celebration of Tennessee Wildlife Federation’s 75th year, Ed shared his views about the importance and impact of our work.

During his time as director, Ed was instrumental in supporting the Federation’s efforts and growing the partnership between the organizations to better serve Tennessee’s wildlife and communities.

“There has to be some common goal for people to believe in so for Tennessee Wildlife Federation to stay for 75 years is really an accomplishment,” said Ed.  

The Federation is forever grateful to the agency and to Ed and his work to better conserve our wildlife and natural resources for years to come.
