2020 Calendar Winners Announced

Oct 16, 2019

People's Choice winning photo, "Angel Hawk" by Terry Weaver. Photo features the underside of a hawk with wings spread, coming down for a landing.

Tennessee Wildlife Federation’s 2020 calendar contest was a success! Thank you to everyone who entered and the thousands who cast votes.

Tennessee wildlife and landscapes were showcased in more than 2,900 submitted images.

Judges reviewed each photograph for originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, and artistic merit. They selected the cover image, monthly feature photographs, and honorable mention images for the calendar.

From the original submissions, 50 photographs were selected to compete for the People’s Choice Award. Those images were featured on the Federation’s website and open for public voting. More than 3,000 votes were cast, and the people have chosen!

Tennessee Wildlife Federation is excited to announce our People’s Choice Award winner:

Angel Hawk submitted by Terry Weaver of Savannah, Tennessee.

The image was taken in Savannah, Tennessee River Bottom and features a Juvenile Red-tailed hawk. Terry will receive a Desert Tan YETI Tundra 65 Hard Cooler; a Tennessee Wildlife Federation YETI tumbler; and a 2020 calendar.

People’s Choice voters who submitted their information were entered to win a Federation swag package. Those prize winners are Pat Hoch and Jody Stone.

This year, Tennessee Wildlife Federation added a landscape portion to the contest. Judges selected the top three landscape images from more than 1,100 photos featuring Tennessee’s picturesque mountains, wetlands, rivers, and more.
