Teaming up with State, Army Corps to Ensure Clean Water

On April 28, Federation policy staff participated in a day-long collaborative, partnering workshop hosted by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Recognizing that resilient partnerships are the key to success, discussions centered on ways to keep partners energized and momentum moving forward as we collaborate on current and future water resource challenges facing Tennessee.

Breakout sessions included focused discussions around key topics, like invasive carp, and the implementation of Tennessee H2O, the state’s roadmap for healthy and abundant water. The Federation is actively partnering with the Corps and other partners to address the invasive carp problem and led the natural resources and recreation and tourism working groups as part of the TN H2O effort. The Federation’s policy team provided input into the discussion to advance collaboration and communication around these issues.

The Federation looks forward to continuing work with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, the Corps, and other partners to address issues of concern affecting our Tennessee waterways.
