Hunting and Fishing Academy

Hunting and Fishing Academy

Tennessee Wildlife Federation’s Hunting and Fishing Academy provides engaging, hands-on instruction in the art of being an outdoorsman to first-time and novice hunters and anglers of all ages. The Academy’s highly trained, lifelong hunters and anglers lead participants through multi-day immersive experiences as they hone their skills in the field.

For hunters, this includes step-by-step, practical sessions on topics such as reading the land, understanding species’ habits and patterns, ethical hunting and harvesting practices, field safety, wildlife conservation principles, and more.

Because the most valuable part of any activity is sharing it with others, bonding with family and friends is central to every Hunting and Fishing Academy experience. Parents are full participants, learning and doing right alongside youth participants so they are prepared to get into the great outdoors as a family.

The Academy experience is made complete each evening with fireside chats—a time of reflection and sharing that begins the transformation of hunting and fishing from an activity to a tradition.
