In Tennessee, TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) manages 170,000 acres of public land, 300,000 acres of lakes, and 7,000 miles of shoreline. These areas not only provide critical habitat for fish and wildlife but also huge recreational opportunities in the region, including hunting, fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing.
TVA is working on its 2019 Integrated Resource Plan, which outlines how it will meet future electricity demand. As part of making this plan, TVA studies the potential results of producing that electricity and issues an environmental impact statement. Tennessee Wildlife Federation is monitoring the progress of these through webinars with TVA.
In February 2019, TVA will make its plan and its environmental impact statement public and request comments.
Tell us today what your concerns are for the natural resources TVA manages so the Federation can better represent your concerns.
