It’s no secret that we’re losing our wild places. Every year, more of Tennessee’s wildlife habitat is lost to agriculture and development. And as time passes, more Tennesseans are further separated from their outdoor heritage.
This separation is often reflected in the decisions of our lawmakers. When it comes to wildlife and wildlife habitat, a seemingly small decision today can have disastrous implications years from now.
So, too, can the inherent rights of sportsmen and sportswomen to hunt and fish be whittled away by what today might seem like an innocuous law or ruling in our high courts.
If we are to conserve our natural resources for our descendants to enjoy as our ancestors did, the time to act is now.
The Tennessee Wildlife Federation advocates on behalf of our wildlife and great outdoors and works hard to introduce the next generation to its natural heritage, but we can’t do it alone. We need you. Only through the gifts and other expressions of support can TWF continue to be effective in fulfilling its mission. It’s a group effort.
