Announcing the Tennessee Scholastic Clay Target Program Cup Winners

Oct 28, 2025

The dust has finally settled for this year’s Tennessee Scholastic Clay Target Program Cup Winners! These cups are a prestigious award presented to the TN athlete at Nationals SCTP who shoots the highest score in that discipline. On Sunday 10-19-25 we had our final shoot off to settle all three cups for the year.

The Rudy Cup

This cup is presented to the highest trapshooter out of the 200 bird American Trap 16 yard line singles. Carson Spurgeon of Houston County Lucky Shots won the Rudy Cup by way of shootoff with Maddox Maglisco of Rossville Clay Target Team. Both athletes shot a 199/200 in American Trap. The shootoff took place October 19th at Carroll County Shooting Sports Park. Thank you to Mr. Bill Lane for accommodating our request to push the shootoff to a later date to accommodate the athletes shooting schedules.

The Poston Cup

Presented to the highest skeetshooter out of the 200 bird American Skeet event, this cup was won by Robert Angell of CCTA-No Option by way of shootoff with Kyle Arnold of South Gibson County Shooting Sports. Both athletes shot a 198/200 in the American Skeet. The shootoff took place at the All State Academic Banquet at Maury County Gun Club.

Robert Angell of CCTA-No Option won the Poston Cup.

The Rider Cup

At Nationals, the inaugural Rider Cup was introduced to highlight our athletes in the sporting clays division. Cooper Carver with Henry Co. No Fly Zone won the Rider Cup with an impressive 183/200.

The Rider Cup is dedicated to Mr. Lance Rider, a founding father in TNSCTP who has served as advisor for new teams. He also helped communities build and launch new shooting ranges in West Tennessee and was former chairman on the TNSTCP steering committee. Tennessee Wildlife Federation is grateful for his dedication to this program.
