On June 17, in a historic 73-25 bipartisan vote, the Senate passed the Great American Outdoors Act.
This puts us one step closer to fixing the national parks’ massive maintenance backlog (up to $6.5 billion!) and finally providing full and dedicated funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund at $900 million every year. This bill will expand recreation opportunities, protect wildlife, and create jobs.
Tennessee Wildlife Federation thanks Senator Alexander for his leadership on this bill. With a bipartisan House companion bill introduced on June 4, now is the time to urge your Congressman to vote for the Great American Outdoors Act.
